AI Face Verification for Smarter Attendance
AI Proofly’s Face Verification feature helps businesses confirm that the correct employee is checking in for a scheduled shift. During check-in, the employee submits a selfie, and the system compares it with the employee’s registered profile photo.
The administrator can immediately view the verification result, including whether the faces are similar and the calculated face-match score.
How Face Verification Works
- Employee checks in
The employee opens AI Proofly and begins the attendance check-in process. - Employee submits a selfie
A current photo is captured as identity evidence for the attendance record. - AI compares the photos
The submitted selfie is compared with the employee’s registered profile photo. - Verification result is displayed
AI Proofly displays one of the following results:- ✅ Face Verified – The submitted selfie matches the registered employee.
- ❌ Face Verification Failed – The system did not find a sufficient match.
- Administrator reviews the result
The administrator can review the employee, verification status, face-similarity result, and face score.

Each Face Verification result may include:
- Employee name or email
- Employee profile photo
- Face verification status
- Face Similar: True or False
- Face matching score
- Verification date and time
- Attendance record associated with the verification
Helps Prevent Buddy Punching
Buddy punching happens when one employee checks in or records attendance for another employee. AI Proofly adds an identity-verification step to help businesses confirm that the person checking in is the employee assigned to the shift.
Face Verification does not rely only on a name, email address, or attendance button. It provides additional visual evidence that managers can review.

Important Note
Face Verification is designed to support attendance monitoring and assist administrators with identity checks. Verification results should be reviewed by an authorized administrator, especially when the system reports a failed match. Lighting, camera quality, image angle, and other conditions may affect the result.
